An Air Force BQM-167A drone like the one pictured here was towed ashore Monday, April 5, 2010, by a fisherman in the Gulf of Mexico off Tampa, Fla. The BQM-167A is a high-performance, remotely-controlled aerial target “used to provide a threat-representative target drone to support the Air-to-Air Weapon System Evaluation Program and other Air Force and Department of Defense air-to-air test and evaluation programs,” according to an Air Force fact sheet.
