Volz Servos GmbH + Co. KG receives EN/AS 9100 aviation certificate Aviation grade actuators designed and manufactured with reliable long-term quality

Offenbach/Main. Quality assurance in the development, production and distribution of actuators for the aviation market now officially certified: Volz Servos GmbH & Co. KG has successfully completed the extensive certification process according to EN/AS 9100. Among other things, the German servo specialist has identified and clearly defined all processes in the company and specified responsibilities. The storage area has been more than doubled to ensure best possible traceability. Finally, EN/AS 9100 requires preventive risk management to avoid errors. The advantage for all Volz customers: even more assurance in topics such as quality, delivery reliability, long-term product maintenance and production documentation, which is particularly important in the aerospace environment.

Phillipp Volz, CEO at Volz, and his quality management team are proud that the certificate confirms the excellent work of the company and that Volz now officially meets the quality requirements for aerospace and defense organizations as defined by the standard: “Since I started in 2010, it has been my defined goal for Volz to become a supplier for the manned aviation industry. With the certification we are now laying the foundation and are all extremely proud of that mutual achievement.”

EN/AS 9100 is based on ISO 9001, with the addition of strict aviation requirements. Customers benefit from consistently high and reliable quality, which is crucial for safety-critical applications. Thanks to the specifications for successful certification, every component and every step in the manufacturing process is always fully transparent and traceable.

“Our customers know that we are certified to the highest possible standard and that we are audited annually,” emphasizes Phillipp Volz. ”We are a transparent supplier, and the certification brings much more traceability to the products, the parts and all associated processes such as test reports, production documentation, etc. The overall quality standard is now much higher.”

It is not without reason that many aviation companies require EN 9100 certification as a prerequisite for collaboration. This makes it easier to integrate into existing supply chains, builds trust and reduces risks for companies and customers.

“The EN 9100 standard is an internationally recognized quality management standard for the aerospace industry and is equivalent to the AS 9100 standard commonly used in the USA,” adds Marco Wüstenberg, Head of Quality Management at Volz Servos. ”Many aerospace companies, such as our customer Beta Technologies, require the EN 9100 standard for collaboration. The certificate is not a one-time thing but obliges us to develop continuously. For our customers, this means that Volz remains at the cutting edge of technology and in all business processes – including future projects.”
