CubePilot’s NDAA-Compliant MicroSD Card for Drone Autopilots Leaks (sort of)

Well this one is interesting, the MicroSD card in your drone might very well be a threat vector, CubePilot today had their first NDAA compliant roll of the production line in Taiwan.

Leaked by CubePilot CEO Philip Rowse on LinkedIn today, not sure if its a leak when the CEO finds images lying around!

I messaged Philip and asked why and he said,

“We made it for those with a requirement for non Chinese storage and is free in all Cube Autopilots moving forward and available for others to purchase”

He added, “Not only have we made the new card without Chinese parts or labour, we have upgraded from a 16 GB class 4 card to 64 GB class 10, more room for logs, this move is a proactive response to growing security concerns, particularly in industries where data privacy and national security are paramount. By offering a non-Chinese storage option, CubePilot is demonstrating its commitment to providing secure and reliable solutions for its customers”

There is an image of a new carrier board for a Cube Orange+ labelled PowerCube ONE

Philip has not responded to questions about that!
