Australia – Have your say on BVLOS drone rules!

Take part in our consultation on drone or remotely piloted aircraft (RPA) beyond visual line-of-sight (BVLOS) operations.

START SURVEY NOW!

Anyone can particpate in this consultation. We especially want to hear from operators who use drones to deliver agricultural outcomes, such as:

  • spray management
  • mustering
  • livestock monitoring
  • farm and land management
  • infrastructure or asset inspections.

Your participation will help us to keep pace with fast-moving drone technology and collect information to:

  • provide a snapshot of BVLOS operations in Australia
  • review the uptake of BVLOS activities
  • identify key benefits and challenges of increased BVLOS operations
  • identify areas where regulatory improvements can be made for lower-risk, low-altitude BVLOS operations.

Chief remote pilot from the Australian Government Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water, Dr Renee Bartolo, says ‘Taking part in the survey means we can provide constructive feedback to CASA to assist in the ongoing development of the regulatory framework which will benefit the sector and industry, particularly for BVLOS operations.’

Have your say by Friday 17 November 2023.
