FlyFreely to host a free webinar on drone-in-a-box disruption

Drone management platform FlyFreely will host a free webinar next week in a bid to help the industry prepare for the disruption set to be caused by removing the need for pilots onsite.
The Future of Automated Drones will be run by CEO and Founder Dr David Cole at 12pm AEST on Thursday, August 17.
Dr Cole said drone-in-a-box and other automation technology was going to significantly change both the sector and the other industries that use drones as part of their operations.
“The confluence of affordable and reliable drone technology with a clear regulatory path to approval is now making fully automated drone operations open to all organisations,” he said.
“People need to start thinking about how they’re going to deal with it.
“If you don’t do it now, your competitors will and you’ll be left at a disadvantage.”
The webinar will look at what is meant by automated drones, the many benefits, the drawbacks, and what will be required to utilise them in your operations.
“The opportunities include the ability to fully automate drone operations – removing the need for onsite pilots – and integrate captured data into existing workflows, to streamline the whole end-to-end process,” Dr Cole said.
“The level of cost savings and efficiency gains, both directly and indirectly, could be immeasurable.”
FlyFreely is already working with various drone-in-a-box manufacturers and is well-equipped to guide businesses through this emerging opportunity.
“We automate and streamline the planning, compliance and data that is required before and after flying, while this new technology automates the piloting component,” Dr Cole said.
FlyFreely is also playing a key role in the development of Australia’s Flight Information Management System, and has relationships with third-party data processors, which in combination with drone-in-a-box technology, will automate every aspect of UAV operations.
