UKSAR UAS Pilot

OVERALL PURPOSE OF ROLE: (brief overview of key focus of position)Responsible for the safe conduct of all UKSAR UAS operations, flying standards and regulatory compliance.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Key Tasks

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

Exercise authority for all operational decision making and the safe execution of UAS flights

Ensure all flights are conducted IAW the UAS Operations Authorisation.

Management of their Flight Time Limitations and rest period requirements.

Managing their Currency and Training Requirements.

Maintaining the UKCAA Flyer ID.

Ensure compliance with the Company Safety Management System, including regular attendance of Flight Safety Committees, Safety Action groups and Health and Safety Committees to promote the highest standards in the workplace.

Reporting of events through the BeSAFE system such as GORs, MSRs and ASRs

Ensure compliance with training directives.

Participating in the UAS emergency response exercises.

Support Health & Safety in the workplace and the appearance of aircraft, hangars and working areas.

Support the UKSAR UAS Engineers to attain and maintain the highest possible standards in the execution of their responsibilities.

Ensure vigilance in respect of UKSAR UAS Base security arrangements.

Participate in the investigation of aviation incidents and near misses, with a focus on preventive and corrective actions.

Participating in MOCs to ensure impact across the organisation is fully identified and meets regulatory requirements.

Provide Aviation advice during emergency response activities

Record all flight and aircraft state on iSAR

Other duties as directed by the UKSAR UAS Lead Pilot to include but not limited to:

Flight Safety Officer

Airfield Liaison Officer

Client Liaison OfficerPerson Specification –Expected requirements

Valid PPL, CPL or previous military flight experience

To have Military / Civil BVLOS UAS operator experience

To be able to obtain Baseline Personnel Security Standard

Airspace management / NOTAM submission experience

Detailed knowledge/understanding of regulations nationally with the ability to develop and communicate proposed amendments

Understanding of Safety Management System requirements

Qualifications

Military / Civil BVLOS RPAS operator (Essential)

Schiebel Camcopter S-100 Qualified (Highly Desirable)

To have payload experience (EO/IR) (Highly Desirable)

To have Flight radio telephony license (FRTOL) (Desirable)

Maritime Radio license (RYA Short range radio license) (Desirable)

UK CAA Flyer ID (Desirable)IT Skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
