Civil Aviation Authority launches special festive award for #SHOTONMYDRONE

Delighted to share that, due to the popularity of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA)’s photography competition #SHOTONMYDRONE, the UK’s specialist aviation regulator has launched a new festive award to celebrate Christmas.

From today, 15th December, drone users from across the UK – from seasoned flyers to those unwrapping a drone for the first time on Christmas day – can take time out from the hustle and bustle of the Christmas period and get outdoors to showcase the best festive location from across the UK.

The competition, which has received over 800 submissions so far, highlights both the eye-catching images that drones can produce and educates people around using them safely and responsibly while exploring the UK’s beautiful towns, cities, and countryside. Whether capturing rolling hills covered in snow or the sparkle of Christmas lights in the towns and cities below, every entry must comply with CAA’s Drone and Model Aircraft Code.

The photographer who enters the most Christmassy shot between 15th December and January 5th will have their image placed on display at the prestigious London headquarters of the UK Royal Aeronautical Society, along with other category winners.
