Andhra Pradesh Drone Lab

Terra Drone India and Vignan’s Foundation for Science, Technology & Research (deemed-to-be University) have co-established a drone laboratory in Andhra Pradesh, India, to foster innovation in unmanned aerial platforms in the country. Here are some quick facts about this initiative.
Location: The lab has been setup at Vignan’s campus in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh.
Inclusion: The drone laboratory is open to both students as well as existing and aspiring industry professionals.
Agenda: The lab will support drone technology education and talent development by focusing on niche technology components for existing drone platforms across the world. The lab will also concentrate on the design and development of new drone platforms for both military and civilian use.
Training: The lab will support training in geographical information systems (GIS) to encourage innovations in drone data-processing and software development in India. The first workshop for the same is being organized by Terra Drone India at Vignan’s from May 27-31, 2019.
Professional equipment: Terra Drone India will provide students with professional-grade unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for research and development as well as hands-on training purposes.

Drones are an indispensable part of our future. And with the domestic market for commercial drones all set to surpass the military market by 2021 (as indicated by market intelligence firm BIS Research), the demand for trained drone operators and analysts will increase manifold in both India and across the world.
