MaptureDrone in a box’ prototype automated take-off and landing demonstration

What does an autonomous drone solution look like? What does it take for a drone to automatically take-off, execute a mission, return to the starting position and land without human supervision? What does a ‘drone in a box’ system look like?

Mapture.ai showed a first prototype of its ‘drone in a box’ solution. During the demonstration, we showed that our drone is capable of launching and landing autonomously, without the need for manual intervention. In addition, we demonstrated our drone storage box, which automatically opens and closes when needed.

Following the demonstration, we discussed various applications for our autonomous drone solution. It was agreed to set up a pilot project together with Rijkswaterstaat and Maasvlakte Plaza. The aim is to scan a large parking area for empty spaces using our system, which will involve the development of custom computer vision algorithms.
