Drone Operators: Raise Your Voice

Drone Operators: Raise Your Voice

By Peter van Blyenburgh, UVS International

The worldwide survey on Non-Military Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS)/Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS)/Drone Operations is available online in 6 languages (English, French, German, Italian, Polish, & Spanish). In the very near future it will also be available in Japanese.

This survey is open to drone operators in the following categories:

· Corporate Entities (operator, manufacturer/operator, flight school, commercial research organisation); &

· Non-Corporate Entities [Governmental (drone operator, non-commercial research organisation), academia/university].

In this context, a drone operator should be understood as a company or organization (governmental or nongovernmental entity) conducting, or planning to conduct, commercial or non-commercial flight operations with drones (incl. corporate flights for a company’s own benefit).

Since this survey was launched on 28 June 2017, inputs have been received from 55 countries & 3 overseas territories.

A review of the current interim status of the survey is now available.

If you are a drone operator, and you have not yet completed the survey, you are cordially invited to do so. Make your voice heard – It will only take 10 minutes.

The submission deadline is 30 September 2017.

Your participation will contribute to creating a realistic evaluation of the current & future international UAS/RPAS/Drone market, based on actual inputs from the relevant community, instead of on the “guesses or estimates” made by a consultant without any “real-life” inputs from the international UAS/RPAS/drone operator community.

The survey, an explanation of its objectives, and a substantial number of reference documents can be found at http://rpas-regulations.com/community-info/survey-on-drone-operations/
