NWUAV Job Opportunities :- Propulsion Test Cell Technician

Northwest UAV is currently seeking individuals with testing experience to fill our Propulsion Test Cell Technician opening. The work requires a strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail. Successful candidates will be tasked with the testing and tuning of small, high performance engines used to power unmanned aircraft.
Knowledge – Skills & Abilities Required:
- Experience with internal combustion engines a plus.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, “hands-on” ability, and use of hand tools.
- Superior problem solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to read and understand test procedures and instructions.
- Ability to accurately fill out log sheets and record testing information.
- Must be able to crouch, bend, reach, lift 30 lbs, and work with hand tools.
- Experience with automated data acquisition, e.g. NI Labview, is a plus.
- Must have a sound working knowledge of MS Office software tools, specifically Excel and Word.
- Commitment to working safely.
- Adherence to AS9100 standards.
- Extended work days and shift work may be necessary.
- Must be willing to submit to a background check.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure all test stand related services are performed safely, professionally and on schedule.
- Operate and maintain testing equipment and data acquisition systems.
- Monitor engine performance ensuring proper RPM, cylinder head temperature, fuel mixture, etc. are maintained.
- Accurately document tuning and testing and complete all required logs.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair equipment and instrumentation.
- Troubleshoot malfunctions, determining root causes and documenting all corrective actions.
- Collaborate with internal and external clients to complete and document testing.
- Completion of all tasks in accordance with AS9100.
- Perform a variety of related duties in support of engine testing program.
