High-tech drone crashes into Hialeah home

SPECIAL TO THE MIAMI HERALD
Would the owner of a white, unmanned flying machine, last seen floating above east Hialeah, please come forward and collect your drone?
A Hialeah man has a mystery on his hands after a drone outfitted with a camera and GPS smashed through the front window of his home at 851 SE 4th Street on Thursday night.
“I heard breaking glass around midnight and thought someone was dumping trash outside,” said Andrus Baksh, 50. “Why would this thing be flying around here so late at night?”
Baksh tried to turn the drone in to police, but they told him to hold on to it.
No one has come forward to claim the high-tech gadget, which has an internal memory card in it that may help identify the owner, he said.
The Hialeah police and the Federal Aviation Administration did not immediately respond to a request for comment about the incident.
Baksh said he wants the drone’s operator to come forward and pay property damages which he estimates at $1,000.
