Prohibited, Restricted and Dangers areas in the UK… Do you know where they are?

Recently the CAA prosecuted a Cumbrian man for flying his UAV in a ‘no fly zone’ near Barrow-in-Furness and the consequence of this has lead him to receive a large fine. While the CAA document all the Prohibited, Restricted and Dangers areas in the UK in their ENR 5.1 document available on the NATS website it is not easy to locate a specific position using just grid references.

Helipix UAV have now produced a Google Earth .kmz layer file with all these areas plotted on it. The file is free to download from their website

Open the file in Google Earth and save it in your ‘My Places’ folder.
