Tiny military drone promises to revolutionise modern warfare

It’s small enough to fit into the palm of your hand and it could be about to help revolutionise frontline warfare.

Developed by a Welsh company, you could carry the miniature remote-controlled drone around in a handbag.

The SQ-4 Recon Unmanned Aerial Vehicle – which at 300g weighs in at less than a bag of sugar – promises to change how the military and police gather surveillance in sticky situations.

Small enough to fly into secure buildings unseen, the tiny super drone can relay back key information using its camera and speaker.

And thanks to a small microphone, whoever is controlling the machine can communicate with troops on the ground.
