Skypower at Casualty Film Shoot

In October last year, the BBC Drama Casualty contacted Skypower’s Aerial Filming department to record footage taken over a staged bus crash. On a cold wind swept day in the heart of Wales on a deserted road called ‘road to no where’, Skypower’s Aerial Drone was launched.

Our Pilot and Gimbal Operator preformed circuits of the staged crash at varying heights of up to 100 meters to achieve a ‘helicopter news footage’ effect. The footage perfectly depicted the urgency of the scene as well as the scale of the crash and was therefore repeated on a TV screen in the reception of the hospital throughout several consecutive scenes. The episode featuring Skypower’s footage was aired on Saturday the 5th of January 2013. It almost looks a bit too real…
