Human powered helicopter flight fails, will try again today.

Not unmanned, but no doubt there will be technology transfer, especially from the teams innovative construction techniques.
Students from the University Of Maryland attempting yesterday to fly into the history books with a human powered helicopter suffered a small setback but will try again today. The rotors of the craft spin at a very leisurely 18 RPM.
The helicopter was designed with lightweight materials so that it only weighs 210lbs, including the pilot. It is powered by a combination of hand and foot pedaling.
Trouble with the power train stopped the attempt. Another flight is planned for today.
A very interesting longer video stream recorded yesterday is available here and live streaming of todays attempt will be found here
To view those video streams you may need to install Microsoft Silverlight player.
Good luck to the team we will be watching.
