Vought acquires Cyber Aerospace

U.S. company Vought Defense Systems Corp. announced plans to purchase unmanned aerial vehicle developer Cyber Aerospace.

Vought said Tuesday it plans to acquire Cyber Aerospace’s issued and outstanding stock in a strategic move to strengthen is presence in the UAV surveillance, intelligence and reconnaissance market.

Cyber Aerospace is a UAV and vertical-takeoff-and-landing technologies developer. With the signed acquisition agreement, Vought will add Cyber Aerospace’s CyberScout, a small and modifiable UAV aerial platform combining the hover capabilities of a helicopter with the forward flight capabilities of a fixed-wing aircraft, to its portfolio.

“This is a major step for Vought in their endeavor to acquire and develop unique aerial and surveillance UAVs for the United States and foreign militaries and the national security market,” Edwin Salmon, Vought president and chief executive officer, said in a statement.
